James L. Sines

Jim Sines is a partner with Ackley, Kopecky & Kingery, LLP, joining the firm in 2007. Jim primarily represents individuals in litigation matters. His personal injury practice has included automobile, bicycle, pedestrian accidents, as well as product liability, work place injury, sexual abuse cases and nursing home abuse, injury and death cases. He has represented employees in wrongful termination cases involving retaliatory discharge, sexual harassment and discrimination. Jim has a diverse family law practice including dissolution of marriage, custody, child support, paternity, guardianships, conservatorships and adoption. He has resolved disputes for his clients through jury and bench trials, mediation and negotiated settlement.

Jim served as an assistant Linn County Attorney for two years.

Jim is a member of the Linn County (former chair of Legal Services Committee, former member of the Board of Governors), Iowa State, and American Bar Associations as well as the Iowa Association of Justice.
